| There will be a lunch in the Carvery at the Rose and Crown, Sandridge, followed by a walk of about 4 miles in the surrounding area. You are welcome to come to the lunch or the walk or both. Remember that the pub may be very busy. If you want lunch it is it is essential to book via Chris beforehand.

Departs from Sandridge Village Hall Car Park, 39 High Street, Sandridge, St Albans, AL4 9DD. The walk will be a narrow loop into Heartwood Forest. It will be about 4 miles long. The total ascent (and descent) will be about 240 feet, spread over a few moderate slopes. Directions and parking Sandridge is about 2½ miles north-east of St Albans along the B651. From St Albans, the Village Hall and its car park are on the left, off Hopkins Crescent, and then the Rose and Crown is on the right. For the Rose and Crown car park, pass the pub, turn right into House Lane, and turn right again. From the Rose and Crown, the Village Hall is less than 100 yards towards St Albans along the High Street, on the opposite side of the road.
