"Friday Folk" is a social dance club which meets at The
Church Hall, Marlborough Road, St Albans, AL1 3XG, UK, on most Friday evenings from 7:45 - 10:00 pm.
If you've ever been to a barn dance or a ceilidh, you'll know the sort of thing we do. We dance for our
own enjoyment - sometimes to live music, sometimes to recordings. |
Give us a try!New members are always welcome, especially beginners. There are no joining formalities or annual subscriptions. Just turn up - on your own or with a partner - and enjoy yourself. People mostly change partners after every dance, and usually there is a good balance between men and women each evening. It is normal for either men or women to ask a prospective partner for the next dance.Normal Friday sessions cost just £2 on the night. (Some special evenings are longer and cost £4 - see programme.) There is easy parking in nearby streets and car parks. Map here. What's OnThe Summer programme starting on 17 April is here. Our next Saturday Special Dance is on Saturday 21 November 2009 with Fat Harry and caller Adam Hughes. From 7:45 to 11:00 pm at Francis Bacon School, Drakes Drive, St Albans, AL1 5AR. More details of Friday Folk special events are here.
